[D'Tandoor Restaurant SS15 Review]

It was probably the 2nd week of Ramadhan when by the whole family (maybe by divine power of God) coincidentally, all at once, craved some good North Indian food. And since Mama always went back after 5.30pm due to her overseas trips, credit risk recommendations, luncheons (jeez, the list goes on! Heavens, thanks Mama's boss! Thanks alot! >:( ) that meant there was little time from the time we pick her up from the station to the restaurants.

D'Tandoor was in the recommended radius, any further my brothers would burst into noisy wailing monsters and will eat car the cushions due to hunger. Kidding.

I was shocked when we first arrived!

The first thing we noticed was, they had provided valet parking for free. Woohoo! Years ago that was non-existent. So thumbs up to that!

warning: photos ahead aren't clear much as lighting was dim. And yeah the camera sucked (at the time). 0.o

Upon entering, (and sitting down) this was the view:

It gave you a luxurious feel with the soft lighting, gold theme and fancy mirrors. Not forgetting the comfy chairs ;) The interior was totally revamped! In the restaurant there was a drinks counter in the corner, and at the back you can partially see the kitchen where the chefs are cooking your food. (and if you were wondering, why the heck is this place so empty?! The other seats were reserved ;) )

Complimentary welcome appetizers were papadoms and mint dip. Yum. No seriously, it’s nice. Colour and presentation may set some people off, but I’m telling you the crunch isn’t substantive if it’s not dipped. =)

Orange Juice rm5.80, Almond Milkshake rm7.90, Mineral rm3.90

The orange juice was pretty standard. I like the cup for the water, it was made of steel and was always cool to the touch. Almond drink was a winner, smooth and creamy but not advisable to pair with a heavy meal like this (men can do it tho =_=')

Pulao Rice small rm12.90, Bendi Masala 2 persons rm11.90, Palak Paneer small rm13.50, Dhall Tharka 2 persons rm11.90, Chicken Vindaloo rm19.90, Chicken Tandoori (not in pic coz it came later) rm20.90

Pulao rice was awesome! Its comparable to nasi briyani except I think briyani is a lil spicy-er. Bendi is my all-time fav vege dish and is still is. It has thick gravy, so think it wraps around each bendi. Yummy. Dhall tharka is the upper-class version of the normal dhall we have --- so its has more dhall lentils, thicker base and more ooommph. Recommended. The chic vindaloo is very very hot! Sorta sambal-ish so be careful! The chicken is cut into bite-sized bits unlike the tandoori chicken, which is chopped relatively bigger.

Plain Naan rm3.70, Garlic Naan rm4.80, Tandoori Roti rm3.90

Yes and this is already filling!

Am terribly sorry I didn't get pictures of the Tandoori Chicken AND Gulab Jamoon rm7.50. They came at a later period and our hands were all gooey. Haha. Gulab Jamoon is a royal delicacy back in the day, its a lightly fried ball of milk custard drenched in liquid sugar. *fattening* But tasty things always are anyway =_='

I think they earn 8.5/10 stars in my review.

[ BFM 89.9 is my new best friend ]

Last weekend was part one of Finishing School, a programme UiTM made compulsory for us final year students. I thought to myself, it'll be those broing teamwork modules that we all have painfully went through the past 3 years plus. Amazingly, it wasn't.

Saturday, the beginning of it all, held talks from 4 speakers who opened up my mind to a different perspective. They made all those monotonous and yes-i-know-that-already topics seem fresh. The topics were: (I can't remember exactly what they were)
  1. Write to Impress: Resume by HR Manager, E&Y
  2. Interview: Make an impact by Ms Salika, PWC
  3. Etiquette and Professional Attitudes by Ms Intan, Profound Learning Services
  4. Personal Branding by Ms Shahfizal, Profound Learning Services

I found Ms Intan (the third) was the most awesome-est-est-est out of all! She even brought her 14 year old to the auditorium! It was an eye-opener (especially for those yang mengantuk, yes, you Qila haha)

Sunday, it was a tad short, half a day shorter to be exact AND the best part is........out of 200 students only 100 (I think LESS!) came!!! Hahahaa! Events were:

  1. Win an Interview with your CV by Mr Wai, Deloitte
  2. Personal Grooming by Pn Azah, UiC

All the talks drilled this fact into my brain:

YOU'LL BE OUT THERE IN THE CORPORATE JUNGLE SOON

BUCK UP

And oh boy it did. Before this my weekday mornings in the car would be this equation:

1 hour in car to uitm: 70% Hitz fm + 25% Fly fm + 5% Mix fm

NOW

1 hour in car to uitm: 70% BFM + 18% Hitz fm + 12% Fly fm.

Whhhaaat thee effeee! I am speechless myself. 0.o

So my morning was spent listening to the stock market today, of the risks of venturing to the China and India markets, of Ananda Krishnan's Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd to privatise Tanjong Capital, offering RM20.80 per share, etc. >>> Yeah I know, OMG. I actually remembered!

[palate.palette.party]

As soon as Kurnisa entered the restaurant Palate Pallete,
BOOMMM >HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! ...again"

She had no idea that it was a duo celebration for her and Hana so as you can imagine, the mixed facial expression she gave away. Confused (to see us there) + Excited (to see us there) =p

Almost half of the table were of school buds, the rest were friends from Hana's side.
Food wasn't much to shout about, I ordered Fish and Chips (RM20) but I'm sorry to say, it sucked. The other mains, were better off according to my mates.

Below, are some pictures, more HERE. =D
